About the producer

Château la Vaure is located in the commune of Fleix, a village in the south-west of France. Le Fleix is on the edge of the Dordogne in a place where the river makes a pronounced bend. Located in an alluvial plain bordered to the north and west by clay-limestone hills.

Wine growing / wine making

Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Aged in oak barrels for 12 months.

Tasting notes

Concentrated nose of black berries with a hint of mocha. On the palate, notes of blackberry, prune and a vanilla finish.

Food pairing

Duck and game terrine, rib of beef, roast lamb with rosemary, roast duck,
confit duck, lamb tagine, Comté cheese.
