Château Doyac, Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois 2011

Ref: 00184/FR

About the producer

Château Doyac is located on the limestone bedrock of Saint Seurin de Cadourne. On these beautiful hillsides with slight south facing slopes, and with drainage system that was completely renewed in 1998, owner Mr. Max de Pourtalès produces a great wine of character (close to the best St. Estèphe), combining structure and finesse. This fabulous terroir (adjoining the Châteaux Sociando-Mallet and Charmail) produces some of the great wines of the Medoc.

Wine growing / wine making

27 hectares under vine on clay-limestone soil with an average vine age of 20 years. Manual harvest followed by vinification in thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks and traditional maturation in French oak barrels of which 30% are new.

Tasting notes

Deep ruby colour. Beautiful aromatic intensity with cassis, cherry, pepper, vanilla and coffee. The mouth is structured, round and fruity with silky tannins. A wine of great length and elegance.

Food pairing

Quail with figs, lamb with prunes and almonds, vintage Comté cheese, potatoes baked with cream & truffles
