Château Andron Blanquet, Saint Estephe 2016

Ref: 00214/FR

About the producer

Château Andron Blanquet is one of the oldest châteaux in Saint Estephe. Its name comes from the village where it is located: Blanquet and the name of an old Saint-Estèphe family, Andron. Since 1971, the owner has been the Audoy family, who also own Château Cos Labory. Andron Blanquet’s vineyard is located on the famous “Cos”, which means stone hill. The neighbours include Lafite Rothschild, Cos d’Estournel and Cos Labory. The soil is pure gravel.

Wine growing / wine making

The 2016 crop was picked as follows: Merlot 4th to 10th October, Cabernet Franc on 11th October and Cabernet Sauvignon 13th to 17th October. The wine includes: 50 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. Yield: 57hl/ha. The wine was aged for 15 months in oak barrels (1/3 new oak).
