About the producer

Located close to Clos René and Château de Sales, Château la Création (previously Château Tour Robert) is owned by the de Gaye family (already owner of Château Grand Corbin Manuel, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru and Château Sainte Barbe, Bordeaux Supérieur) with Yseult de Gaye-Nony currently at the helm. Its 4.60 hectares (11.36 acres) of vineyards spread all around the house. The wine-making techniques and the cellar were modernized before Château la Création produced its first vintage in 2012.

Wine growing / wine making

The harvest is done exclusively by hand and all the grapes are picked plot by plot when the maturity is optimum. After a cold maceration of 3 to 5 days the vinification is done in stainless steel and thermo regulated vat. Then the wine is gently matured in French oak barrels for 15 to 18 months.

Tasting notes

While it is rich, this wine from an 11-acre estate is also perfumed, with a balance between the wood aging and the black fruits. Wood aging shows in the spicy character and the wine is heading for an impressive, ripe, powerful future. Wine Enthusiast 93/100
